Permits in St. Catharines, Ontario

Quick Permit Notes

St. Catharines is stricter than the provincial baseline. The City typically requires a building permit for any accessory building or structure greater than 10 m² (108 sq ft), which is lower than the 15 m² (160 sq ft) threshold set out in the Ontario Building Code. Structures under 108 sq ft generally do not require a permit unless they contain plumbing, but they must still comply with the City's Zoning By-law for setbacks, height, and lot coverage.
