A bunkie is a small accessory structure commonly built at cottages to provide additional sleeping space for family and guests. Unlike a full guest house, a bunkie typically does not include plumbing and is not intended as a separate dwelling unit.

Cottage Country Living

Our clients in North Bay were building the cottage of their dreams and wanted to build a cabin to host their guests that had the same modern look and build quality. We were happy to collaborate with them and find something that fit in perfectly on the property that tiedthings

The Design

Our clients wanted something that looked natural that would feel right at home on their wooded lot. To achieve this look we gave them a beautiful shiplap siding stained with an earthy and aptly named colour, Muskoka Brown. We even changed our typical steel corners for some custom milled wood corners out of the same quality pine as their siding for a seamless look. They went with our standard monoslope roof and added some large black windows to let all plenty of natural light pour into this beautiful cottage retreat.

The Installation

The shell of this install was completed in just 4 days by our crew. Some weather delays and difficult terrain surrounding the foundation added extra time but we still made good time and left our client with a strong and durable structure that will stand tall and look beautiful for decades to come.
