16x10 Garden Shed in Georgetown, Ontario

A Backyard Shed That Does Everything the Garage Never Could
Most Georgetown homeowners have a garage. What they don't have is a place to put the gear the garage already gave up on. This 16x10 Advanced Shed on Calvert Drive was built to solve exactly that problem: a proper, dedicated backyard storage structure that works as hard as the people using it.
The shed sits on an existing concrete pad in the backyard, which meant the install was clean and fast. No site prep complications, no delays. The structure went in as planned, and the result is a shed that looks like it was always meant to be there.
Cedar Warmth, Black Steel Edge: A Finish That Earns Its Keep in Georgetown
The front and right walls are clad in 1x6 horizontal premium tight-knot pine tongue-and-groove panelling, stained in Muskoka Brown. In direct afternoon sun, that stain reads as a rich amber, warm and almost honey-toned. On an overcast day it settles into a deeper caramel. Either way, it holds its own.
The left, right side, and back walls are finished in 7/8" corrugated steel siding in Jet Black, with matching black steel trim and flashing. The contrast between the cedar-toned pine and the matte black steel is the visual engine of the whole design. Neither material overpowers the other. The wood brings warmth, the steel brings weight, and together they read as intentional rather than accidental.
The exposed rafters and soffits are stained in the same Muskoka Brown, tying the overhang into the wall cladding so the roofline feels like part of the design, not just the thing holding the roof up. The SAM cap sheet roof in black keeps the profile clean from every angle.
Three Barn Doors, Two Access Points: Designed for How a Shed Actually Gets Used
The door configuration on this Georgetown Advanced Shed is the standout decision. The front wall carries a set of double sliding barn doors with a 60-inch rough opening, each panel fitted with three frosted Lexan glass windows. That opening is wide enough to move large equipment, seasonal gear, or anything else that doesn't fit through a standard door.
On the left wall, a second access point: a single 42-inch sliding barn door with three matching frosted glass windows. That side door changes the way the shed functions entirely. Instead of a single entry point at the front, you have two distinct access zones, which means better organization, easier reach, and no bottleneck when you need something from the back.
Both doors are finished in Black Beauty, a near-black with just enough depth to distinguish it from the steel siding without breaking the colour story. The frosted Lexan windows let light into the shed without sacrificing privacy, and the hardware locks on both doors give the whole setup a finished, secure feel. Four 11x32-inch transom windows run across the front wall above the door track, pulling in additional natural light across the full width of the structure.
