10x10 Garden Shed in Mississauga, Ontario

All Black, No Compromise: A Garden Shed Built for a Mississauga Backyard
Most homeowners in Mississauga come to us knowing what they don't want: a barn-style box in a colour that clashes with the house, a flimsy door that drags on the frame after the first winter, and a roof that needs attention within a few years. This customer on Northaven Drive in the Port Credit area wanted a 10x10 garden shed that held its own visually; something that read as an extension of a well-kept property rather than an afterthought sitting in the corner of one.
The Essential Shed fit the brief. At 10x10, it gives genuine usable space without dominating the yard. The concrete pad was already in place, which kept the installation clean and efficient: one day, two workers, and the shed was done.
Two Materials, One Finish: How Black Steel and Black Beauty Pine Work Together
The exterior of this Mississauga garden shed runs on a single colour story told through two very different materials. The corrugated 7/8" steel panels wrap the right, left, and back walls in Classic Black, a colour that reads as a true, slightly cool black in full shade, and takes on a faint graphite warmth in direct afternoon sun. The ribbed profile catches light differently across the face of each panel, so the shed has visual depth even from across the yard.
The front wall and a portion of the right wall are finished in 1x6 horizontal premium tight-knot pine tongue-and-groove panelling, stained in Black Beauty. Black Beauty is not the same black as the steel. It pulls warmer, with a brown undertone that comes forward in softer morning light. Against the cooler steel panels, the pine reads as its own material, not a match, but a deliberate contrast. The two panels meet in a clean vertical seam, and because both surfaces share the same dark value, the contrast is subtle enough to read as intentional rather than mismatched.
The Tough Rib steel roof in Classic Black keeps the roofline consistent with the walls, so the whole structure holds together as one monolithic form rather than a shed with a roof sitting on top of it.
A Full-Glass Frosted Door That Earns Its Place on a Garden Shed
The 36x80 frosted full-glass outswing door is the detail on this build that changes how you read the shed. Frosted glass on a garden shed is not purely aesthetic: it diffuses light into the interior without revealing the contents, which matters when the shed backs up to a fence line or sits in view of a neighbour. The door runs nearly the full height of the front wall, which makes the shed feel more considered and less utilitarian. The silver lever hardware reads against the dark frame without competing for attention.
The 24x48 single-hung vinyl window on the right wall adds cross-ventilation and brings natural light to the interior from a second angle. For a shed used for storage and occasional workspace, that combination of light sources makes a practical difference in how usable the interior feels day to day.
