The three walls you see least are clad in 7/8" corrugated steel in Jet Black.That colour is not a dark grey. In full sun it reads like obsidian: deep, flat,and almost absorptive. Against the warm cedar fence boards behind it, thecontrast is immediate and deliberate. The corrugated profile adds a horizontalrhythm that keeps the structure from reading as a blank box.The front wall and the upper portion of the left wall are 1x6 horizontaltight-knot pine, stained in SICO Walnut Brown. That stain pulls the wood towarda rich tobacco tone, warm and slightly red-brown in direct light, settling intoa deeper espresso in shade. Next to the Jet Black steel, it reads like amaterial conversation rather than a contrast: two strong finishes that agreewith each other without competing.

The exposed rafter tails and soffits carry the same walnut stain, tying the roofline into the wall panels and giving this custom backyard shed a finished,considered look from every angle.

The 42" sliding barn door on the front left wall is the decision that makesthis shed work as a pool shed.
