The front wall switches material entirely. 1x6 horizontal tight-knot pine in tongue and groove, stained Kendall Charcoal, gives the entry face a softer texture and a quieter mid-grey that lets the doors carry the visual weight. Against the Welland sky on a clear afternoon, the contrast between black steel and charcoal pine reads sharper than it does in catalogue photos, with the steel pulling toward true black and the pine settling into a deep neutral.

The single biggest design call on this Welland pool shed was the double sliding barn door setup. Each door carries three frosted Lexan panels in a Black Beauty frame, suspended from a galvanized steel track that runs the full width of the opening. The 60-inch rough opening means both doors slide apart cleanly, exposing the pump, filter, and plumbing without the swing radius a hinged door would demand on a tight pool deck.

The frosted panels matter more than they look. Closed, they pull daylight into the equipment bay so the homeowner doesn't need to flip a light on every time the system gets checked.
