12x8 Backyard Shed in Woodbridge, Ontario

Two Rooms, One Shed: A Woodbridge Cube That Does More
Some projects come with a simple brief: build us a shed. This one in Woodbridge came with a more specific idea. The homeowner wanted a 12x8 Cube Shed that could handle two separate uses without the spaces bleeding into each other. That meant a dividing wall, two doors, and a layout that actually functions as two distinct rooms rather than one open box.
The result is a Cube Shed in Woodbridge that works harder than its footprint suggests. Backyard Escape Studios built this one on an existing paver stone patio, with the structure landing cleanly on the finished surface and leaving the yard exactly as it was found.
Charcoal Steel and Cedar: How These Two Materials Work Together
The exterior on this Woodbridge backyard shed is a study in contrast that earns its keep. The front face is clad in 1x6 horizontal premium cedar tongue-and-groove boards, stained in Muskoka Brown: a warm, amber-toned finish that reads almost honey-gold in direct sun and settles into a richer, darker tone in the shade. It is the kind of wood finish that feels intentional, not rustic.
Wrapping the sides and back is 7/8" corrugated steel in Charcoal, a cool blue-grey that sits firmly between charcoal and slate. In overcast light, the corrugated panels read as almost graphite. Against the cedar front, the contrast is clean and graphic, two materials that each look better for being next to the other. The flat-profile EPDM roof and rear drain keep the roofline minimal so neither material competes for attention from above.
A Dividing Wall That Makes This Cube Shed Worth Searching For
The standout decision in this Cube Shed build is the interior dividing wall. Most sheds are built as a single open space, which means everything shares the same zone. Tools, seasonal items, bikes, and gear all pile into one room and the whole thing becomes harder to manage over time.
Here, a 2x4 stud dividing wall splits the 12x8 footprint into two separate rooms, each with its own outswing door. The primary entry is a full frosted-glass panel door in a black-painted frame, positioned on the front cedar wall. The secondary door on the divider is a flat panel model, also white-framed. The frosted glass on the main door is the right call: it brings diffused light into the first room without making the interior visible from the yard, which matters when you are storing things you would rather keep out of sight.
Custom Backyard Sheds Built Across Woodbridge and Greater Vaughan
Woodbridge is a community where the lots tend to run larger and the backyards are put to work. Homeowners in this part of Vaughan are building outdoor spaces that reflect how they actually live: organized, finished, and worth looking at. The demand for a well-built custom backyard shed in Woodbridge is real, and it extends into the surrounding communities of Maple, Kleinburg, Concord, and Vellore Village.
Backyard Escape Studios builds and installs Cube Sheds and the full product line across York Region, including Vaughan, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, and King City. The team also serves the broader GTA corridor north, reaching into Aurora, Newmarket, and Barrie for projects like this one: a compact, organized, two-room backyard shed built to hold up through Ontario winters and look good doing it.
