10x8 Pool Shed in London, Ontario

A Poolside Storage Problem Solved in London, Ontario
Anyone who owns a pool knows the equipment doesn't store itself. Filters, pumps, hoses, and chemicals need a home that's close to the water but doesn't take over the yard. That was the situation for this London, Ontario homeowner, whose inground pool needed a dedicated spot for its mechanical gear.
The solution was a 10x8 Pool Shed, built as one of our Essential Shed models and placed right along the poolside concrete pad. It keeps every piece of equipment within arm's reach of the pool while staying clear of the diving board and open lawn.
That's the core job of a pool shed: give a homeowner one place to keep the gear organized, protected from weather, and close enough to the water that maintenance doesn't mean a trip across the yard.
Charcoal Steel Meets Natural Pine on This London Pool Shed
The shed's left, right, and back walls are wrapped in 7/8 inch corrugated steel in a charcoal finish. In direct sun it reads almost black, but step into shade or catch it at an angle and the ribbing picks up a softer graphite tone that shifts with the light throughout the day.
The front wall breaks from the steel entirely. Horizontal 1x6 tight-knot pine tongue and groove boards run the width of the shed, finished in a clear coat that leaves the wood's natural grain and knots visible rather than covering them with pigment. Next to the charcoal steel, the pine reads warm and honest, the kind of material choice that keeps a backyard structure from feeling like a metal box.
The double doors tie the two materials together. They're finished in Kendall Charcoal, a deep grey close enough to the steel siding to feel intentional, while still standing apart from the lighter pine flanking them on either side.
Double Sliding Doors That Make This Pool Shed Work Harder
The standout decision on this build is the door. Instead of a single swinging door, this shed uses double sliding barn doors on a 60 inch rough opening, each panel fitted with three frosted Lexan glass windows.
Sliding doors solve a common headache for London pool owners every summer. A pool deck is already tight with a diving board, loungers, and a walking path to the water. A swinging door needs clearance to open, and that clearance eats into usable deck space every time someone grabs a pool net or a bag of chlorine. Sliding doors need none of that. They glide flush along the wall, so the full 60 inch opening is available without anyone backing up furniture to make room.
The frosted glass panels add a second benefit. They let daylight into the shed without exposing whatever's stored inside, which matters for a structure sitting in plain view of the pool and the rest of the yard.
