Mower In, Door Down: A 16x10 Storage Shed in Niagara-on-the-Lake

The front opens with a manual, spring-loaded roll-up door, 84 inches high and 72 inches wide, and the shed sits on a concrete pad matched to its exact 16 by 10 footprint. BES recommends concrete over a wood subfloor for this kind of use, since a mower rolling in and out wears a wood floor down and eventually rots it.

A Low-Maintenance Storage Shed in Jet Black Steel and Mitten Drift

The exterior is maintenance free, with nothing to paint, stain or seal. The front and right side walls are split face, pairing Westridge luxury vinyl panel in Mitten Drift with Agway 26 gauge corrugated steel in Jet Black textured. The back and left side walls are Jet Black corrugated steel from corner to corner.

Black trim, corner trim and fascia frame both materials. On the front, the Drift section holds the roll-up door, with a small section of black steel to its left.

A Fixed Window and 16 Inch Front Overhang on This Niagara-on-the-Lake Shed

On the right side wall, a 14 by 36 inch fixed window with a black frame sits in the Drift section, with black steel finishing the rear part of that wall.

The SAM membrane roof runs at a 5 degree slope with a standard 4 inch drip edge. It overhangs 16 inches at the front, above the roll-up door, and 12 inches on the sides and back. Under the cladding, the frame is 2x4 wall studs and 2x6 roof rafters with 1/4 inch and 7/16 inch OSB sheathing.
